Good Tidings

Good News
Luke 2:10 “…I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.”

The angels bring good news to the shepherds. The good news is of Jesus, Christ the Lord being born this day. What great news it is to know that your prayers have been answered and knowing that peace is coming. Peace not as the world gives but that sweet peace that transcends understanding through Christ Jesus.

Through Jesus you have peace because Jesus became sin for you. Jesus birth was necessary for your salvation. Jesus birth in you is necessary for your salvation, “You must be born again (John 3:7).” To be free form sin is to be at peace with God and this is possible only through Jesus Christ the Lord. Jesus’ birth brings joy and peace to all.

So on Christmas Day celebrates the gift of joy and peace Jesus brings to you. Share that gift with the loved ones in your life and all you meet. Rejoice and tell all you know of this great promise being fulfilled in your life and how they to can receive this great gift. Bring them good tidings and joy and tell them that Jesus Christ was born to give peace to all.

Crave God's Word

CRAVE GOD'S WORD
1Pet. 2:1 “¶ Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. 1Pet. 2:2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, (NIV).”

Salvation is what you have through Jesus and your future goal because of Jesus, “who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time (1Pet. 1:5 NIV).” Therefore because of the grace of God you should rid yourselves of the desires of the sinful nature. You need to have such a desire for God’s word, as a newborn baby desires milk, you should crave God’s holy word, that pure spiritual milk.
The pure spiritual milk, the word of God, will grow you in your salvation. God’s word will teach you His character, love and His grace. Meditating on God’s word and reciting the word out loud will help you to memorize His word. Having God’s word in your heart will come out of your mouth and reflect the life that you live.
Are you filled up with God’s word are you constantly looking to feed on God’s word? If not you are spoiling your appetite with the stuff you need to get rid of and replace it with the Word of God and see how you are satisfied with full nourishment you need.
